ok all
hoping for some help here
Moving to Windows 8 from XP for corporate image.
Looking for help with making a default image for all users.
Have set our XP images up for default by simply copying a preconfigured local user over to the default user, then capturing image.
Not able to do that now I realize.
Have gone through probably 1000 sites, blogs, articles, that only seem to confuse me on the proper way to get this result.
I have created an unattend.xml file with copyprofile set to True using WSIM. Have placed it in my task sequence when deploying image to new computer using SCCM 2012. Have preconfigured the administrator account to how we need it. The copyprofile then runs using the system profile and this does not work for what I need as no preconfigured settings from the administrator account appear.
Is there anywhere that this procedure for copyprofile used with SCCM 2012 is clearly explained for someone who has never used it or at least never gotten it to work properly.
I am also trying to capture the appfolderlayout.bin file for a default start screen. I am deprovisioning and removing the pre-installed (Metro) apps as they are not to be used in our corporate image. Am placing other items on the screen that fit our corporate image. Anyone know if shortcuts pinned to start will be retained for default users?
If more info is needed I can supply.
Thanks in advance for any help.
