We are having some problems with our inventory collection usingSCCM2012 R2. The sms_inventory_data_loader log is full of these messages:
Inventory Data Loader failed to process the file D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\dataldr.box\Process\HYDYGY8R.MIF because it is larger than the defined maximum allowable size of 5000000.
Solution: Increase the maximum allowable size, which is defined in the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER\Max MIF Size (the default is 5 MB), and wait for Inventory Data Loader to retry the operation.
I am hesitant to change default values in registry on site server.
I tried to check classes but couldn't see HYDYGY8R.MIF. There is various folders on Dataldr.box
one of which is BADAMIFS which is about 24 GB in size.
Is there any way to resolve this without modifying registry
