Clairifcation on using the Same External Ethernet Adapter for OSD

Hi, I am having the known problems when using the same external Ethernet adapter for devices with Wi-Fi only adapters, and I need some help to make sure I understand this.

We are in the process of planning for deployment of hundreds of new systems over many sites, all with Wi-Fi only adapters.

We want to setup an imaging lab at each site using the same external Ethernet adapters at each location.

I would like to import the computers first, using UUID, as outlined here:

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/pauljones/2014/04/22/using-configuration-manager-operating-systems-deployment-osd-with-a-shared-network-adapter/

If I follow these steps, the machine is then known, and registered in SCCM by the UUID, and not the MAC. But once OSD is complete, the machine then registers that external Ethernet adapter.

After the above is complete, I want to confirm that SCCM will by default use the UUID to identify systems first when managing them, and not the MAC. SCCM will only fall back to MAC if UUID of the system is not known. In that case, it would be an unknown system, and register in SCCM by the MAC, again unless pre-staged.

Thanks
