Wim - offline servicing not installing the updates

$

Hi,

I have updated my wim file with the security updates through offline servicing. However, on installation of the task sequence the updates are installed. Could any one please let me know how could this be resolved.

When I have tried to install these updates manually on to the system, I could install the updates successfully.

Error Office 365 (2016) during OSD svchost 100 cpu

I have been successfully installing Office 365 click to run (2013/2016) but now I have ramdomly install failures on both Win7 and Win10. It does not happen every time but most of the time.

If I don't set a timeout in the program the installation never finish. The CPU is 100% with svchost.exe taking all the juice.

When I log into windows I actually have Office installed but I'm not sure if it's installed correctly.

Office logs:

05/17/2016 22:48:10.397SETUP (0xba8)0xbacClick-To-Runauhi0MediumTryLaunchClient::HandleStateAction: Stop showing the splash screen.
05/17/2016 22:48:39.271SETUP (0xba8)0xbc0Logging Libletbce0tUnexpectedCall to GetPackageVersionToReport failed. {"SH_ErrorCode": -2147467259}

The last row goes on and on without ever ending if I don't set a timeout.

I use MDT integration with package/program roles together with UDI wizard to choose office installation during OSD.

Any help is appreciated.

Issue deploying Application through SCCM 2012 task sequence.(program *)

Trying to deploy a Task Sequence(containing 5 applications) to clients and receive line in execmgr.log that another program is trying to run...

Looking at the SCCM object, it shows this deployment, but under program column, it has a *.

In the log below, it says its waiting for program * to run? What is this behavior about? My Apps/Deployment Types don't have any dependencies or relationships that would cause this. Any idea was this wouldn't run? Content is verified and testing agents are healthy.

Any help is much appreciated!

PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent

$

I have read several posts that don't truly fit my issue but I may be wrong but I need help. Let me provide as much details as I can in hopes of resolving my issue.

Network was recently segmented

SCCM 2012 R2 is a VM on x.x.0.0 VLAN 100
Desktops/Laptops are on x.x.20.0 VLAN 20

I did not have this issue prior to segmenting the network and I enabled DHCP Scope options 66 and 67, Option 60 N/A as the DNS and SCCM are not on the same server.

Option 66: FQDN of SCCM server
Option 67: smsboot\x86\wdsnbp.com

When I PXE boot the client sees the deployment server, hit F12 option and it gives error: PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
I added a second NIC to the VM and put it on the x.x.20.0 subnet and VLAN tagged 20 on there.

Still the same result. I see that the client gets an IP address from DHCP which is on the x.x.0.0 subnet, I check the Address Leases and what I see may be the issue but not 100% sure on my theory.

Instead of the normal 12 Hex MAC address it is coming up with the GUID address that I see in PXE, think this is also called the SMSBIOS GUID from what I have read.

The Client Machine is a Lenovo T540p if that makes a difference. I thought about removing the WDS feature and reading but I am hesitant on that as it applied to other issues that is not quite like mine.

Any Suggestions would be greatful, thank you!

Intel i217/8-LM Network Drivers will not install during OSD to W10

Hi,

We have hit an issue that it seems many other people are having, i cannot install NIC drivers for the Intel i217-LM Network Card. My particular issue is on the HP 800 G1 USDT (one revision of it).

(this issue is also present on multiple Dell models)

I have downloaded the last 9 driver revisions directly from intel and attempted to apply using both the "Auto Apply Drivers" and "Install Driver Package" steps (directed at model WMI query).

Here are some of the many driver versions i have attempted to apply:

The Task Sequence will fail 90% of the time when attempting to bind to the domain , the other 10% will fail at the very next step, all of course post "Setup Windows and ConfigMGR". I have no issues with this NIC from within WINPE, it fails over shortly after rebooting into windows.

If i run a continuous ipconfig/all i can see the NIC stable and fine and then it will disappear on next reboot (first reboot into windows). On next reboot my TS has failed and usually i will see "Network Cable Unplugged" - this will only go away when i look into devicemanager and disable/enable the NIC.

You can also see in device manager the NIC driver that ALWAYS shows, 12.13.17.7 this is what i always see even if i attempt to install different versions.

The below screenshot is from device manager, note the confusing version number and dates?

I cant see how 12.15.22.3 was from 2015 whereas 12.13.17.7 is listed as 2016

My last test yesterday was to attempt to inject the latest driver directly into my Windows10 Wim file, which also did not work.

The file i injected:

How to create a self signed certificate to apply in a Provisioning package

$

Hi Expertz,

I was working with provisioning package installation using task sequence & found out that a ppkg file can work silently if we can add a certificate to trust the source as this blog https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn916107%28v=vs.85%29.aspx says that

"If a provisioning package is signed by a trusted provisioner, it can be installed on a device without a prompt for user consent. In order to enable trusted provider certificates, you must set the TrustedProvisioners setting prior to installing the trusted provisioning package. This is the only way to install a package without user consent. To provide additional security, you can also set RequireProvisioningPackageSignature, which prevents users from installing provisioning packages that are not signed by a trusted provisioner."

Have anyone tried this idea of removing this screen while you run provisioning package??

Software Updates hand - W10 Task sequence with Bitlocker

Have setup new TS for Windows 10 Enterprise under R2 SP1 CU1. I apply the Software Updates step after installing apps so that it picks up all the updates including Office 2013. On laptops I am enabling Bitlocker. I'm finding the SU step finds about 57 patches, downloads then starts applying and then stops at particular office updates - nothing showing in SMSTS.log other than "Waiting for RefreshUpdates complete notification from Updates Deployment Agent". Strangely a desktop (non bitlocker) works just fine i.e. applies all the patches without fail. So I've had to move the apply SU step higher up so it only applies O/S updates and that is ok. I tried taking specific update it was failing out of the SU group but it hangs at a different Office update, but as I say never a problem with the desktop - same build just no bitlocker. I also tried moving the bitlocker step below the software updates to no avail. The TS never times out - i.e. still sitting there over night hanging at the SU step

Schedule Updates Windows 10 Build 10586 - No Updates Shown

I'm trying to set a schedule for offline updates on the new Windows 10 Build 10586. The issue is that nothing shows up on the list of updates available.

In looking at the dbo.SupportedProductsForOfflineServicing table we see Windows 10 is only version 10.0.10240

Notice how the Windows 10 version it validates against is 10.0.10240 and not what we have currently 10.0.10586. I've tried manually changing the version number in SQL which didn't resolve the issue. I don't have a support contract with MS so I can't go to them unfortunately. I am going to open a TechNet issue though and see if I can get some traction on the FREE route.

Hi all

At a new Distribution Point far away we have replicated all packages, but we are having problems with Task Sequence and I think it is related to IIS because when I browse "http://localhost/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$" I get error 500 the website cannot displat the page.

Running SCCM 2012 R2

I hope someone have experienced this and knows the solution. Are there other logs I should check?
When browsing http://localhost/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$ on our primarry site the list of ini files displays fine, but I get error 500 on the new distribution point.

F12 is working, but start og Task Sequence fails.

DART 10 Integration with SCCM 2012 1602

Guys,

I am trying to figure out how to integrate a DART recovery partition into an OSD deployment process in SCCM integrated with MDT 2013 Update 2.

I can integrate Dart 10 fine with SCCM and get the remote control viewer but I now need to look at integrateing the recovery tools onto  machine in a partion so that the user can launch the tools from the computer from a recovery partition.

I have already stumbled on the first hurdle by not even being able to generate a Dart 10 recovery image on a Windows 10 machine.

Steps I have taken:

1. Installed ADK (stable version which is not 1511)

2. Installed Windows dbugging tools that come with SDK

3. kicked off wizard and point to Windows 10 1511 source files and select all recovery tools

4. Wizard bombs out with

error Generating DaRT image
Installing and configuring DaRT tools...
The running command stopped because the preference variable "ErrorActionPreference" or common parameter is set to Stop: The request is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070032)

Any advice would be appreciated to get around my two challenges !

I have been testing the Win10 update using SCCM and it has been working great.  Client gets updated to Win10 and hits the KMS server no issues, till now.  I did a larger scale upgrade for a lab of computers 21 student and 1 teacher.  After the process was finished all BUT the 1 teacher computer would NOT activate.  I checked everything I could think of, removing from the domain and rejoining, pinged the KMS server, no issue.  I have been able to upgrade other computers fine with no issue till now and I am puzzled and help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys, i had 2 custom ISO CD created (or USB) booteable images, one its a tool of my Antivirus (To perform AV Scans offline), and other one its of my encryption tools (To restore info of encrypted drives offline), We used a lot this tools but we have to boot from usb or cd in order to use them.

We already have implemented SCCM with a few Task Sequence to format and image our standard in our clients using PXE, and all work perfectly.

What I want its, Put the AV and Encryption ISO available thru PXE, in separate tasks or boot images.

I will appreciate your Help!, thanks!

SCCM Environtment SCCM 2012 R2 Version 5.00.8239.1000 and Build 8239

Laptop attempting to image is Dell Latitude E7470

For some context, I have been working on setting up OS Deployment via boot media and PXE boot, and have successfully gotten the task sequence to come up on our older laptops, however on our newer laptops it can not pull an IP address once it loads the boot image, which research indicated was a driver issue. I have tried adding the various network related drivers from the vendors site (Dell), pulling the .inf files from the installers, put them on a network accessible drive, imported them into drivers in the SCCM console, added them to the correct driver package, and added them to the boot image being used. I run into the following errors when I try to update the DP's:

Error: Boot image to update:

  Error: Actions to perform:

• Set scratch space

• Enable Windows PE command line support

I am not sure if I just missed something along the way, or if I just need some sort of work around because it picks it up as unsigned. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, I have only been working with SCCM for a few months so I am not exceptionally well versed on its inner workings.

HP Zbook Studio G3 BSOD's upon first reboot when OS and drivers have been deployed

I am using SCCM 2012 R2 to deploy an image Windows 7 Ent SP1 x64 to this system. I use this same image for all other HP devises with no issues. I downloaded and expanded the driver package SP73082 and installed those drivers on SCCM like I have for all other devices. Upon the completion of installing the OS and drivers and at the first reboot the system will BSOD and restart, at which point I attempt to stop the page from changing with no luck, so am unable to capture the error code that is being generated. I validated that the drivers were the correct ones, the number of files and folders are the same. I even changed the amount of RAM to see if that was the issue to no avail.

Troubleshooting steps:

I have validated that the drivers are the correct ones for this model and OS.
I have verified that the drivers are setup correctly within SCCM 2012 and are being pushed out to the system during the installation process.
There is nothing that shows this system is failing to load any of the drivers or that it is having an issue with the OS.
The system once the initial reboot happens continues to BSOD. Even attempting to load in safe mode does not resolve. Loads up to disk.sys and fails.

I used this image today to image a HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G2 with no issues so I know the image is working.

I also verified that the drivers when uncompressed match what was imported into SCCM to deploy to this system.

Any assistance with understanding what could be causing this would be great.

Hi,

Is it supported to deploy windows 10 using SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU3 and ADK 8.1? both the refresh and new computer scenario?

Please suggest.

Is there a way to give a Device in SCCM a new GUID?

Hello everyone,

I had to change the hard drive for a lenovo today and after I changed it and tried to load our OS Image via PXE Boot on the laptop it couldnt start the PXE Boot because the GUID changed (atleast thats the only thing i noticed).

The GUID it changed too is not used for another device in our Collection.

Is there a way for me to change the GUID entry for the Computer inside SCCM so it recognizes the Laptop again?

Greetings, Paxz.
